We’ll never forget the moment Catherine Lábíran made her mark at the United Nations. A human rights advocate and poet, she got the world’s attention with her call for accountability and action to fight racism at #UNGA76. Lábíran is a Nigerian woman who was born in New York and raised in London. She uses her cultural experiences to advance social justice through her poetry, advocacy, and research. In 2019, she was chosen to be a Fellow for People of African Descent by the UN’s Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights.
