Hitting Snooze. The alarms were going off last week after the USWNT recorded their first-ever three-game losing streak since 1993. Facing Germany on Sunday for the second time in a handful of days had many worried the negative streak would extend at Red Bull Arena. But there were no Sunday Scaries for the USWNT. A hard-fought 2-1 win was enough to halt the momentary skid, and it was good to see both Sophia Smith and Mal Pugh on the scoresheet. With the World Cup fast approaching, though, it’s clear that there’s room for improvement in the USWNT, especially after tallying a 2-5-1 record in its last eight games against top-10 opponents. Still, a win is a win, and the USWNT closes its 2022 schedule on the right foot. Here’s to hoping there’s no more alarms ahead of the 2023 World Cup. 📸: @pdbonilla #uswnt #uswntsoccer #uswntedit #uswntplayers #meganrapinoe #malpugh #sophiasmith #ussoccer #womenssoccer #alexmorgan #alexmorgan13 #mallorypugh #woso #clubelevenmag
