Sled March > Bound > Sprint This drill is great for reinforcing some of the fundamental elements of acceleration. Moving from a slow pace to a sprint also helps translate those key shapes and allows the athlete to keep their focus on them as they pick up speed. The key elements we look to maintain across all 3 phases of this sled drill are: -Projection: moving your hip forward with each step -Retraction: hitting the ground underneath your hip so that you can move into the next step smoothly and minimize braking forces -frontside: recovering your leg as high as possible to the front while maintaining a good forward lean -stuff ground contact: feet and ankles should be ready to hit the ground, minimizing how much the angle of the ankle changes on foot strike #fastfeetfriday #acceleration #sprintdrill #sprinttraining #athleticdevelopment #sportsperformance #speed #speedcoach
