Bar Nena just opened its doors in West Village and it’s a vibe. Mexico City themed cockail bar & lounge with small bites, open from 6pm -2am Thursday-Saturday. We would recommend getting there at 8ish, pick a sweet, savory or spicy cocktail and their delicious bar food (Mushroom Empanadas + Fruit Skewers were absolutely perfect). While you catch up with your friends and get a few rounds of shots, the bar is turning up as well. The music starts to hit starting 10:30/11 and then the volume slowly turns up till the spot gets dancey, around 12:30ish. The energy did not miss all night and all the staff was super sweet and accommodating. If you get there on time you won’t have troubles getting in, but even later on they are here to be understanding and try and manage to their best, rather than just throw attitude like so many other doors do.
