On the second day of invertebrates for the Holidays, let's talk about beetles! They're like a big family with lots of different members. Some are tiny, some are as big as a new pencil! And they come in all sorts of shapes and colors. The things they do are fascinating too!
Did you know beetles have two different sets of wings? The forewings are rigid and solid (known as Elytra), used as a shield for protection. The hind wings are soft and fragile, and are used for flying. Beetles show us how nature is like a big, colorful painting with lots of different characters. 🌈 🪲
