Jayla Dagen is a Junior Fisheries and Wildlife major with an emphasis in Fisheries Ecology/Management.
Last summer, Dagen had an internship at the Missouri Department of Conservation as a Fish Hatchery Management Intern. There, she gained a basic understanding of cold-water fish hatchery management, made professional connections in a state entity, and strengthened her confidence and career goals. She now hopes to work as a Warm-water Hatchery Manager post-graduation.
Dagen had also previously met with a Career Coach, attended a career fair, and she recommends reaching out to Career Services for any student developing a professional career!

Volunteering is key, not getting paid for your time is not ideal, but your devotion to helping will give professionals a good idea of your character and you will make essential connections," Dagen said.
