"I wanted to learn about what happens behind the scenes to create educational exhibits," Richards said. "I grew up loving to read and interact with nature exhibits, this opportunity allowed me to develop my interpretation and creative skills."
Kaitlyn Richards is a senior Fisheries and Wildlife and Environmental Studies double major. Along with senior Caitlin Faust, a Regional and Community Forestry major, they both had a micro-internship last semester as Exhibit Developers with Lincoln Parks and Rec at Pioneers park.
They were both able to create meaningful connections, develop time management and teamwork skills, and are both proud of the displays they created.
"I was able to learn the process of designing and creating nature exhibits," Faust said. "Our exhibits covered Nebraska's state symbols, the history of pioneer's park, and an Arbor Day hand tree to interact with a younger audience. Overall, my internship was an amazing experience and I'm happy our work is now on display!"
