Congratulations to the 2023 recipients of the Sgt. Ron Helus Legacy Award, Daniel Sanchez & Ray Lara 👏 We were honored to present the award to the recipients with the help of Ron’s wife, Karen Helus and californiastrong’s christianyelich and baruth2! On November 7, 2018 Sgt. Ron Helus made the ultimate sacrifice when he heroically gave his life to save others at the Borderline Bar and Grill shooting in Thousand Oaks, CA. To honor Ron, Easton has created the Sgt. Ron Helus Legacy Award to help ensure that his legacy lives on in the community forever. Easton provides this award annually, with two deserving recipients selected by Karen Helus, Ron’s Wife, and the Venture County Sheriff’s office. The children chosen to receive this award represent the traits that Ron portrayed every single day as a husband, father and sheriff. We will never forget.
