#BlackHistoryMonth continues with Carver Park!✨ World-renowned Black architect Paul R. Williams was commissioned to design a housing development of 1,000 homes for the growing workforce at the Basic Magnesium Plant in the 1940s. This included Carver Park, a segregated housing area for Black Americans working at the plant. Carver Park featured 64 units for single workers, 104 one-bedroom units, 104 two-bedroom units, and 52 three-bedroom apartments. It also included a school, recreation hall, and market.
