When working on design, I like to give my clients as many of the "feels" they can get while building out their vision. This may include design decks, swatches of linen, samples of cardstock and pieces of different colored wood that we may include in the elements for their wedding day. It sounds silly but when it all comes together, it's their vision, my imagination and some excellent vendors that bring it all together.
