Scrap Metal just sold for $1.8 million dollars 🚗 RM Sotheby's auctioned off a 1954 Ferrari 500 Mondial Spider Series I for $1.8 million. What's the catch? This particular Ferrari, however, is in anything but good condition. The car is scrap metal at this point. There are no wheels, internals, and the body has faced fire damage. Why did it sell for this much? Because it has the VIN. Ferrari will rebuild all of their own cars that have the VIN.
