I wasn’t planning on running the #UnitedNYCHalf, but when readingpartners asked me to fundraise, I had to say yes! It combines my two favorite things: running & reading. I’ve been volunteering with the organization since 2017 in Baltimore, San Francisco and now New York City. Over the years, I’ve worked one-on-one with a kid at a weekly cadence.  Reading Partners is a wonderful organization that provides tutoring (and mentorship) to students who are struggling with reading. From kindergarten through third grade, students learn to read. After that, they read to learn. Students must be empowered so that they continue to grow into middle school and beyond.
