In assemblies for Upper and Middle School this week, the Lunar New Year planning committee presented on the holiday’s origins and the cherished customs of China, South Korea, and Vietnam. Thunderous applause and cheers filled Thies as Lower Schoolers braved the big stage to share their favorite traditions. ❤️ “I had so much fun researching the diverse history and activities surrounding Lunar New Year,” exclaimed Sophia Oh. “I’m grateful that we had the opportunity to share our cultures with the school community.” 💛 During the Lunch & Learn, students were invited to sample sweet and savory foods, make lanterns, and tie a wish on the wishing tree.
