We already know seat switching requests can be annoying, but at the expense of romance, is it acceptable to make your couples trip the problem of other people on your flight? "There's a special place in hell for entitled seat swappers,” says one commenter on a recent popular post on the r/AmericanAirlines subreddit. So what’s a hopeless romantic to do? Who’s going to hold your hand during take-off? How can you share headphones to watch a movie together or nap on each other’s shoulders? A few rules of thumb if you find yourself in this predicament: Read the room (i.e. are you asking someone who is already very settled in to their seat?). Don't request to trade down (i.e. don’t you dare ask someone on the aisle to take your lowly middle seat.)
