On this past saturday morning I was awarded The Dolores Huerta Scholarship Awarded by the City of Tempe human relations department!!! For five decades, Dolores Huerta has paved the way. She has broken barriers and has shattered stereotypes. Ms. Huerta has been a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work and perseverance. Her rallying cry of "Si Se Puede!" has united people of all different cultural backgrounds to fight against injustice wherever it is present. I am honored to receive this year's Dolores Huerta Scholarship. I stand here before you as a young and enthusiastic community organizer because of all that Ms. Huerta has done.
