New York City is home to many people of Dominican descent. So it’s no surprise to see a New Yorker being a rising star in Dominican Republic women’s team. Meet Jaylen Vallecillo, a teenage sensation who’s one of the 18 Dominican-Americans in the squad for W Gold Cup qualifier. 🇩🇴🇺🇸 Jaylen was born in Honduras to Dominican parents, and moved to New York City when she was very young. Growing up in NYC, she played for David Villa’s Queensboro FC, Manhattan SC, and now with East Meadow SC. The silky midfielder broke out as a star in the Dominican Republic U-20 squad last year. Her impressive performances have earned her a spot on the senior team, and she doesn’t even turn 18 until April.
