Satellite imagery captured the Sun emitting powerful solar flares on February 12, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and

NOAA said a solar radiation that began on February 9 enhanced again on February 13. “Slight possibility remains for additional enhancements if flare/CME activity produces energetic particles,” NOAA said, adding that the general public need not be concerned.
According to NASA, “solar flares are powerful bursts of energy” that have the ability to “impact radio communications, electric power grids, navigation signals, and pose risks to spacecraft and astronauts.”
