California, Illinois, New Jersey and New York have all seen proposed legislation banning youth tackle football. In Illinois, a bill to ban tackle football for children 12 and under has been titled the “CTE Prevention Act”. These bans are likely to be unsuccessful, but most in favor of them simply hope the efforts will result in a greater emphasis on safety at the grassroots level of the game.
