Our final report from Macon and the State Wrestling Finals! Both of Riverwood’s Senior Captains finished out their high school careers placing in State (no small feat). The guys got to take part in the medal ceremony with all of the excitement of the last day at State Finals. In the team points competition, Riverwood scored 19 points, placing us in 21st place in 6A, besting all of our region rivals that qualified (St. Pius, Marist, Dunwoody, and North Atlanta). ▪️Alexander Reid (126 lbs Sr.) placed 5th after battling to a tough Consolation Semifinal decision with Jason Stelhom (3rd place finisher) from South Effingham. Alexander plans to continue training for Nationals this spring and is considering wrestling in college. ▪️Nathan Johnson (150 lbs Sr.) battled Javon Bateman (3rd place finisher) from Tift County in the Consolation Semifinals, ultimately taking 5th.
