Study abroad in Australia 🌏
Meet April, a junior majoring in environmental science and minoring in education studies here at Skidmore. Last semester, April studied abroad in Australia at the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Queensland.
On the program, April said:
"As a new program to Skidmore, it really stood out to me because it is uniquely excursion-based! The two main courses (Terrestrial Ecology and Marine Ecology) have four, week-long research-based trips. Some of my favorite moments were snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, swimming with sea turtles, sharks and rays, hiking through a subtropical rainforest, learning about Aboriginal culture, and camping in Girraween National Park! Of course, seeing kangaroos and koalas was awesome too."
"As someone who hasn’t had many opportunities to travel before, being able to learn through this hands-on program was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! I made so many amazing friends and really couldn’t recommend it more!"
