Exploring Skidmore's woods 🗺️
Meet Hunter, a 2023 graduate who majored in political science with minors in statistics and philosophy. This summer, Hunter is researching the "Newlands," a parcel of Skidmore land north of Daniels Road, next to the Daniels Road State Forest.
On the research, Hunter says:
"My job is to explore the parcel, assess the potential for building recreational hiking and biking trails, and draft maps that display possible scenarios for future use of the Newlands. As you can see, getting through some parts of the unmanaged regrowth can be a bit tricky. That said, there are acres of beautiful, nearly untouched forest that would hold great educational and recreational value if they were to be made accessible through a trail network.”
