FALL OF THE FRESHMAN: The freshman football team saw its two-game winning streak come to an end tonight at Noack Field after a 30-8 loss to the Liberty Hill Panthers. The Knights got off to a rocky start as Liberty Hill scored a touchdown just five minutes into the game. After the Panthers scored again to make it 16-0, the Knights rebounded with Jax Hicks scoring the home team’s lone touchdown and Alex Hopper converting a 2-point conversion halving the deficit at 16-8. It was all Panthers on the scoreboard from there, however, as Liberty Hills scored 14 points unanswered to win 30-8. Hicks said he was proud of his touchdown against a quality opponent. “We came out as underdogs,” Hicks said. “It felt good to show them a little bit of what we had.” Next Thursday the boys hope to redeem themselves against an opponent that is to be determined.
