RISING TO THE OCCASION: The JV volleyball team traveled to Eastside on Friday night and beat Panthers in straight sets. The Knights started off strong, winning the first set, 25-7, and ended strong, winning the second set, 25-8. Junior Pearl Vaughan thought the team played a great game, especially considering that the team had no bench players because they only had six people available for the game. “It wasn’t a particularly difficult game,” Vaughan said. “But it gave everyone a chance to play positions we don’t usually get to play, and I think everyone did really well at adjusting to something they aren’t used to.” Vaughan was one of these players who had to assume a position she wasn’t used to: outside defensive specialist. “I’m proud of how I played defensively, because it’s not a position I usually play,” Vaughan said. “I’m also proud of how my serving has improved over the season.” The JV Team will play the Travis Rebels Tuesday in the large gym at 6:30 p.m. Caption by JoJo...
