The Freshman A team held their own in the first set against the Ann Richards Stars, only losing 25-18. However, according to Freshman Isa Urbina, the second set slipped away from them as the Stars’ serves found gaps in the defense repetitively for a final second set score of 25-7.
“We were getting in our heads a lot,” Urbina said. “We started to lose confidence because serve-recieve is our main difficulty, and i think once a few points got by we all kind of gave up.”
Despite the feeling of defeat after a loss to the district rivals in the final game of the season, Urbina has a positive outlook for next year.
“I think we can do better,” Urbina said, “I’m disappointed, but still excited for next year.”
