The freshman boys basketball team beat the Crockett Cougars on Tuesday at Crockett High School. After only having one practice this break, the freshman started the game a bit rusty. “During our practice we felt really sluggish and slow, so hopefully going forward we will feel more energized,” freshman Coda Becker said. Despite the holiday blues, the Knights ended the first quarter leading 15-8. The Knight continued to play with high energy if not perfect execution. “I feel like we got our energy back up in the second half, but had some mental lapses, which slowed us down,” Becker said. In the fourth quarter, the Knights let up a bit, giving the Cougars some open shots. Becker said that might have been a function of fatigue. “I think that since it’s the end of the game, we often get a lot more tired,” he said. The Knights ended up winning by three, 42-39.
