Thanks to a fourth-quarter comeback, the JV boys basketball team beat the host Crockett Cougars on Tuesday. Junior Alex Jones said the team may have underestimated their opponent. “We played this team earlier in the year during a tournament and won, so I think we may have been a bit overconfident because of that,” Jones said. The Knights struggled to score in the first half. As a result, they trailed at halftime, 21-16. In the second half, Jones said, the team tried to play with more composure. “During our talk during halftime, we talked about how we were better than how we were playing,” Jones said. In the third quarter, the team cut the Cougar lead from five to three. The Knights outscored the Cougars in the fourth quarter by nine points, leading to a 43-37 victory. The Knights play Hyde Park at DCG tomorrow. Caption by Leah Gordon.
