RESTLESS WIN AGAINST RAPTORS: The JV girls soccer team defeated one of their biggest rivals, LASA, 3-1 Monday evening at Nelson Field. The team played through the cold and celebrated their win afterwards with friends and family in the stands. After each scoring a goal in the final seven minutes, freshmen Tristen Diaz and Priya Thoppil were ecstatic. Diaz also scored a goal, and had an assist in the first half. “The first goal lifted everyone’s energy and spirit and helped us play our best the rest of the game,” Diaz said. After winning previous district games by a wide margin, the girls weren’t sure how this game was going to go, but they were all determined to win. Since LASA was the most evenly matched team they’ve played so far, the girls were very happy with the outcome. “I'm really proud of the team,” Diaz said. “We improved so much, we all did our best, and all our practice paid off.” Caption by Maggie Mass.
