FIRST MEET ENDS SWEET: The boys track and field team competed in its first meet of the season at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School placing 10th out of the 19 competing teams this past Saturday. In the varsity 3,200-meter race, junior David Herring placed sixth overall with a time of 10:15.01. “The 3,200 was really fun since I was able to win my heat so it gave me confidence going into the 1,600 and the rest of the season,” Herring said. “My goal is getting more PRs since I feel like there still are a few seconds that I could cut off my times.” In the varsity 4x400 relay sophomore Mitchell Butler, junior Finn Corrigan, junior Adrian Shiquango and senior Charlier Weatherby finished fourth out of 10 relay teams with a time of 3:43.01. On the field sophomore Luke Dunham cleared 5 feet, 6 inches to place second in the varsity high jump, and sophomore Camden Willis won the JV high jump, also clearing 5 feet, 6 inches.
