HOW SWEEP IT IS: Junior Sam Stevens and sophomore Lupe Ruedas went a collective 7-for-7 at the plate as the host Knights defeated the LBJ Jaguars 11-0 to sweep the two-game district series and improve to 4-0 so far in District 24-5A play. McCallum pitchers junior Nathan Nagy, Ruedas and junior Nico Sanchez combined to strike out 10 Jaguars, allowing only two hits and walking three. It wasn’t quite the complete shutdown that the staff enjoyed on Tuesday, but they did preserve the most important zero – runs allowed. Four games into the regular season, the Knights have not allowed a district opponent to score. And they’ve averaged 11 runs per game, the precise number they scored on Tuesday.
