Welcome to another edition of #SponsoredStudentTuesday! Today, let's meet Monica from Malawi. Monica is 17 years old and is currently in Grade 12. This is her third year of being sponsored through The Sonder Project’s Education Is Power program. Before joining the program, during her first year of secondary school, Monica’s family struggled to pay her school fees. She was often sent home as a result, never knowing if she would be able to go back to school and complete her education. Now, Monica doesn't have to worry about missing a term of school and falling behind. Instead, she can focus on her education, and in the most recently completed school term, she ranked #3 in her class! Monica dreams of becoming a nurse so that she can help those around her.
