Let’s talk about macronutrients today: 1) carbohydrates 🥖 🍝 2)proteins 🍖 🍗 3)fats 🧈 🧁 So what exactly are they? → Carbohydrates: These are easily the most demonized ones (think keto, no fruits, no bread or pasta, yikes). They are our body’s energy source and are super important, especially for us dancers to keep us fuelled throughout long practices. → Proteins: They help us build muscles and also keep us satiated. Some sources of protein also provide a lot of micronutrients like iron and calcium, which are important for our internal health. The recommended amount is 0.8 or 1g per 1 lb bodyweight. → Fat: Also demonized quite a bit. Fats do not make you fat, guys! They keep us satiated as well and also are needed for our sex hormones.
