A year ago, Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan was elected to represent Virginia’s 4th Congressional District, becoming the first Black woman elected to Congress in the state of Virginia. Despite the progress we’ve made in various fields throughout history, we continue to make history by achieving significant milestones nationwide. This serves as a reminder that #BlackHistoryMonth is not solely a commemoration of the Civil Rights Movement and the triumphs over past challenges, but also a celebration of our contemporary history-makers who boldly embrace their destinies while honoring the legacies of those who paved the way before them. #BlackHistoryIsNow
