“Monarch butterflies have become one of my favorites to photograph over the years. I find so much meaning behind having one land in front of my lens but I feel like my ancestors are living within them. Flying around, watching over me and helping me create some of my best work. Monarch butterflies’ annual migration starts in the northeast US (where I am from) and finishes in the southwest of Mexico (where I am near now). Everytime I see one of these in my current home area - it’s a little hello from my ancestors from the northeast US - wishing me a great season ahead.”
