Today marks Geordie Hackett’s last day in his 17 year career with GCU. This is not an April Fools joke. The GCU Sports Medicine staff would like to take this time to thank Geordie Hackett for his 17 years and countless hours of service he has given to GCU and it’s Athletics teams. Seventeen years ago Geordie came to GCU from the east coast to take the head athletic trainer position and eventually became the Director of Sports Medicine. Over the Division 2 years he built up the sports medicine department having its athletic training room in Antelope Gym as well as providing strength and conditioning programs for GCU’s Athletics teams. In the early 2010s and Division 1 years he helped design the main athletic training room and weight room in the Lopes Performance Center (formally the Rec Center) and the athletic training room in the GCU Arena.
