Last year’s #CreateSpaceResidency travelled to Saskatoon to support Xiao Han’s public art project that adopted Chinese heritage dance as a vehicle for storytelling. Expressed through choreography, music, heritage dance, The Presence is a narrative of the early Chinese immigrant community and their relationship to the land in Saskatchewan. Through the residency, Xiao gained experience across location scouting and community engagement. We’re looking forward to what’s next in the artist’s journey! PS.
