As an IVF mom and one that is committed to providing access to treatment thru the bundleofjoyfund that we created due to our own personal journey with infertility, it’s taken me some time to wrap my head and heart around the turmoil happening in Alabama. It’s so discouraging to watch lawmakers, who clearly don’t comprehend how their decisions affect assisted reproductive technology, continue to pass judgement that moves modern medicine backwards. There is a blatant lack of compassion and understanding for the 1 in 6 couples that will be diagnosed with the disease of infertility.   This ruling jeopardizes a treatment that is a the last hope for so many people trying to conceive. There are already so many physical, emotional, and financial hurdles for people diagnosed with infertility.
