Shannon Norton used a solar telescope to capture 160,000 frames of the sun over a 3 hour period. They then took 25% of the best frames to create this timelapse.
The timelapse features notable features of the sun such as a solar flare ejected out of an active region. It also captures darker regions of the sun, known as Plage, which are areas with large amounts of Hydrogen Alpha.
