It's Election Day in Michigan. In addition to choosing their presidential picks, voters in Mount Pleasant are being asked whether they would support a property tax increase to build a municipal aquatic center, while Isabella County residents are being asked whether the county should increase taxes for six years to support general operating funds.
Three precincts are open in Mount Pleasant for voters:
* Ganiard Elementary
* Pullen Elementary
* Fauncher Elementary
Powers Hall on CMU's campus is also open for voting until 8 p.m tonight.
Poll worker Ashley Collett, at Gainard Elementary school, said 83 in-person voters come through her precinct before 10 a.m. She said she expected around 300 to come through over the course of the day.
"Our city clerk always sets us up for success," Collett said. She has been working polls for 13 years and said she's enjoyed it every year.
