This year’s National Park tour with blackpeoplewhohike found me at a time when I really needed to get out and disconnect. I had just gone through what has to be the hardest time of my life and I craved the outdoors, a community, and some really tough hikes. I found that and more, I found family, I had deep conversations, and I got to hear and tell beautiful stories. Through this documentary I got immersed into other people’s realities, I got inspired and challenged, got choked up with tears and lifted with laughter. I got to share my blackness with other black people. Through subaru_usa and wearefieldscout we got to really unplug and reset.
