In Oct. 2023, Mun Choi, UM System president and MU chancellor, authorized approximately $1,170 of university funds to pay for MUPD security for the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity following the theft of an Israeli flag from the exterior of their house. Christian Basi, director of the MU News Bureau, clarified that a “non-general operating account” was used to pay for the security. Funds in that account do not originate from tuition or state revenue. AEPi President Jay Cohen said Choi also visited the fraternity house following the theft. Basi confirmed this, and added that it is common for Choi to visit student organizations. Link in bio to read more.
