Filipino History 🇵🇭💛✨🪢 February 25th marked the 38th anniversary of the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution where millions of Filipinos from all walks of life gathered to march along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), the main artery of Metro Manila, to end the dictatorship of President Ferdinand E. Marcos; this movement fostered a new era rooted in liberation, marked by tenacity and resistance. Filipinos across various sectors – the church, labor and trade unions, women’s organizations, youth and students, etc – came together, flooded the streets, and toppled the U.S.-backed Marcos regime.
