Tonight, we’re honored to recognize the life and legacy of Nick Gilbert and the millions of others worldwide who have been impacted by neurofibromatosis (NF).
Nick, affectionately referred to as “Gilly,” lived every single day with meaning. Throughout his 26 years of life, Nick embodied eternal optimism, hope and a heart of service. He, along with his family, dedicated his life to raising awareness and supporting families impacted by NF, as well as funding research to cure the disease.
At tonight’s game, you’ll see activations and mementos that represent what Nick meant to the Cavaliers organization, including Wine & Gold Bow Tie pins, Bow Tie Mac ‘n Cheese (being served at Gilly’s Clubhouse & Rooftop in Detroit), Rally Towels and Shooting Shirts with the Bow Tie prominently displayed, as well as Tower City lit up with the iconic Bow Tie image.
