They call it the universal language. I call it the universal love. The game of soccer has taken me all over the world and introduced me to some incredible people. None more special than the group we got to meet today: The Lotus Sport Club - an LGBTQ+ football club in Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia. Pa Vann, the trans head coach and father figure, has created solidarity among straight, lesbian and gender-diverse players. He has opened his home to the more vulnerable, outcasted teenagers on the team, creating a safe place for them to be themselves. In his humble home lives the power of sport. The power of representation. The power of community. What an honor to take the field with Lotus SC (absolute ballers!) and continue our quest to spread universal love.
