The St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum graciously thanks the Americana Corner Preserving America Grant Program for its support! The grant will help with continued conservation and exhibition of additional artifacts recovered from the 1782 shipwreck in St. Augustine — the Wrecked! Exhibit, on view in the 1876 Keepers’ House. More objects will be added to the exhibit, sharing the story of British Loyalist evacuation from Charleston, SC. As part of our ongoing efforts, we are currently in the process of enhancing our Wrecked! Exhibit with artifacts nearing conservation completion. Located in the 1876 historic Keepers’ House this exhibit features artifacts recovered by our maritime archaeologists from a Revolutionary War shipwreck known as the Storm Wreck. The exhibit tells the story of a series of ships that wrecked offshore of St. Augustine in 1782.
