culture.wav is a spotlight for the best Diaspora artists. Week 2 features Soumya (soumya_vytla), a South Asian American artist based in Nashville, TN. What is “I’m So Done” about? “I’m So Done” is a pop-rock anthem about rejecting societal beauty standards and embracing one’s unique features. The storytelling verses and explosive hook voice my frustration with how the media perpetuates colorism and body dysmorphia. How would you describe the music you make? I write pop/R&B music that speaks to my experiences as a South Asian American girl in her twenties.
