Happy #InternationalWomensDay! As we honor and salute women around the world, we reflect on how we as an organization contribute to their empowerment and well-being. The Sonder Project’s core values of Demand Equality and Listen to All Voices guide our focus on empowering women & girls in all of our projects. Here are a few examples: 🔸 63% of the students in our Education Is Power program are girls, an effort to reduce inordinately higher dropout rates for females 🔸 83% of members of our community farm are women, providing them an opportunity to cultivate their own plot of land & become economically independent 🔸 Our community committees for constructing schools & wells are led by least 50% women, ensuring they have a voice in their community’s development 🔸 Our water projects primarily empower women & girls who face the overwhelming burden of clean water scarcity We are always looking for ways to build empowerment of women & girls into our programs.
