“It felt like an amazing place to let my imagination run wild.” —Artist and photographer salometrz (Salomé Gomis-Trezise) on the potential she saw in artificial intelligence
“What initially drew me to AI was its ability to create worlds and characters that transcend time and space. I could now build elaborate sets, hop from country to country and imagine scenes from 30 years ago, at the same time.”
Salomé creates rich, imaginary worlds — like an immersive, cinematic universe — for her characters. Whether she’s using AI, her phone or a regular camera, storytelling is always at the heart of her work. “I think narrative is so important, especially in a world where the over saturation of images is insane and we’re forced to look at things all the time. I believe that narratives transport you and that’s a key element of what art is to me.”
