The team’s most visible leader, there’s a lot on his shoulders - but it also says a ton about a guy when his teammates vote him to wear a letter two years in a row, like they have with Nash Nienhuis. His captaincy has been a lot like his play on the blueline - steady and reliable. Effective. There when you need him. Setting a tone, nothing fancy. A rock. Championship cultures take work to cultivate, and in this era of Spartan hockey, one constant has been Nienhuis among the team’s leaders.
