Once farmland in the 1800s and early 1900s, The Bridle Path transitioned into a residential area in the late 1920s. Toronto land developer Hubert Daniel Bull Page envisioned it as a subdivision for luxury estate homes with equestrian bridle trails. To promote his vision, he constructed the Cape Cod Colonial-style house at number 2 The Bridle Path in 1929.
While the original plans for Bridle Paths have been paved over, the wide streets and the neighbourhood's name still bear the imprint of its rich history. š
This area runs from Lawrence Avenue to the south to Wilket Creek to the north, where residents and visitors can walk to York Mills Plaza, Bayview Village Shopping Centre, and the beautiful Edwards Gardens, home of the Toronto Botanical Garden.
