#fastfeetfriday Why resisted sprinting? When we sprint, we only hit peak power for a fraction of a second. If you want to increase that peak power output you’ve got to hit peak power for longer, which is exactly what heavy sled sprints allows you to do. Loading a sprint pattern allows you to get stronger horizontally, which cannot be produced in a gym setting. These athletes are hitting 7-10yard sprints with sled loads calculated for them based off their acceleration ability and bodyweight. Short, heavy, repeat sprints will train them at their peak power longer and therefore increase that ceiling for them over time. Lighter resisted sprinting also helps develop acceleration strength and ability and can be used for further distances. #acceleration #sprinting #sprintdrills #resistedsprinting #forcevelocityprofile #sportsperformance #athletedevelopment #speeddevelopment
